I had to read it a few times to catch all the intricacies, but I loved it.
I lol’d at the Kvothe part. It references the fact that Rothfuss has already written the second and third books, they just aren’t ready to be released.

I believe Goodkind’s exact words were “Novels that have important human themes that deal with the faculty of reason” or something like that. He believes his novels, for all their twisted morals, are sermons of deep philosophical interest that have simultaneously “changed the face of fantasy literature” despite that he claims not to write fantasy.

You know I wanted to be really bummed out about Jaime losing. I am a solid G.R.R.M. fanatic and I am really NOT fond of the Wheel of Time. But this, this was masterful. You took the pain of loss and made it all better.

I have to admit that I’ve never read any of his work, but what a great sport!
In the event that any of the Powers that Be of the Cage Match are reading this, I would like to offer up a simple suggestion for the inevitable next tournament. As entertaining as some of the write-ups were (And then he had a snack), I think it could be easily and significantly improved if scenarios for both outcomes were written. This would especially help those of us who haven’t read all of the books in question.
Regardless, this was a lot of fun, and now I have a very long list of books to read over the summer. Thanks, Suvudu!

Kahlan is a character from the sword of truth novels. By the last few of those, all of the characters are total hypocrites–Richard, for example, kills a bunch of pacifists just for standing in his way despite telling everyone they should “make their own choice.” These people chose differently than he, so he killed them…
And, Terry Goodkind is an arrogant jerk. He said in an interview that he “does not write fantasy novels. He writes novels with important characters.” Which is garbage, since he made his money writing a novel with swords, magic, and a mystical land of prophecy…
