After 1315 comments, over 30,000 votes, and two great arguments for their respective characters by the authors, we finally have a champion.
And while there will be a more formal post, I just wanted to thank everyone here for playing with us--it's been a blast, and I think most of you have had a good time, too.
There will hopefully be a final video recap on Tuesday.
Again, thanks so much for helping make this a success, and special thanks to George and Brandon for participating.
All the best,
Suvudu

Before the end of the last book there's no doubt that rand would win, he could just do something like what he did with Graendal. But now it seems he's back to his old self sorta, so it's a little more even.

Coming in a bit late in the argument, and, I'm sure, rehashing old ideas, but I'm still a bit disappointed that not a single Feist character gained entry. If Edward "Sparkly Vamp" Cullen gets a berth, then either Tomas or Pug/Milamber deserves a spot. Another interesting entry would have been Finn from Paul Hazel's "Yearwood" trilogy. Probably wouldn't have gone far considering the series was very popular, but anyone who's read the books will attest to the fact that he deserves to be amongst the fantasy world's elite fighters. If they do this again next year I vote they put a limit of one character per author (or at least per series) for a little more diversity. Could have got a couple of fresh faces this year by doing so.
As for this match, I voted for Jaime simply because I'm not familiar with Rand. I read the first book in WoT more than a decade ago but never could get into it, probably because I was on a bit of a Lovecraft kick at the time. Considering what I've read in the posts this would be a good time to get my hands on all twelve books and study up on the champ.
