Brandon Sanderson has become one of the most recognized names in fantasy.
It didn’t happen overnight. With his own work as well as the task of completing the final volumes in the Wheel of Time series, Brandon keeps a rigorous schedule. I swear, from reading his Facebook posts, the man never stops working. He is a machine. Fans and other authors respect that of a young author. He also loves talking with his fans—whether it be online or in the real world—and he makes every effort to give of his time, his expertise, and his geekiness.
Therefore, Comic Con is a perfect venue for him.
I had the chance to interview Brandon at the Tor Books Comic Con booth. I wasn’t interested in his efforts to bring the Wheel of Time to its final climax. Those questions will come later. No, I was far more interested in The Way of Kings, Brandon’s huge sprawling epic that will publish late next month.

More interviews coming soon from Comic Con!
Stay tuned!

Good interview! I love Brandon Sanderson and think he is a talented author!
Note – I believe you meant Part II of II on the second video.
Very cool. I can’t wait to read Way of Kings. The magic systems and worlds Sanderson makes are amazing.
I just finished an ARC of The Way of Kings, and I absolutely LOVED it. The book portrays Sanderson’s skill and growth as a writer, and the amount of time and thought he has put into it definitely shows.
Thanks for this!
I got to do a video interview him earlier this year also, and he talked a bit about The Way of Kings in this one too (more in the second half of the interview):

This is the first interview I have watched of Brandon’s, and I just wanted to comment on how approachable he seems. It is good to see an author that is obviously as into his genre as his fans are. It is at once refreshing and reashuring. I can’t wait to read WoK.
I also finished the ARC recently. It’s absolutely amazing. I hated everything that pulled me away from it (work, sleep, the rest of comic-con…)
