Cover: Gauntlgrym by R.A. Salvatore

Here is the final cover for Gauntlgrym by R.A. Salvatore, Book One of Neverwinter.

The art is supplied by Todd Lockwood. It features Drizzt fighting for his life in more ways than one! I love the color and sense of motion. The wraparound cover, which you can’t see here, features the lava exploding outward through the cavern as a different dwarf statue wielding a battle hammer looks on.

Not too keen on the D&D bar at the top, but otherwise love this cover!

R.A. Salvatore will be touring in October for the release of Gauntlgrym. He will also be conducting an online chat with Suvudu on October 22nd, so get ready to ask him any and all questions you have.

What do you think of the cover?

  1. Shaen says:

Doesn’t Drizzt’s frostbrand scimitar make him immune to fire? Isn’t that how he banished Errtu in the Crystal Shard? Cmon, Bob…focus.

  2. Drizzt says:

Well, it doesn’t look like he is getting burnt, and on a side note I think this cover is amazing

  3. MK says:

Great super-series, Forgotten Realms, I personally like this cover it keeps with the basic motif that Todd Lockwood likes to keep goind, Drizzt fishting someone in an epic battle. Like on the cover of The Thousand Orcs when Drizzt is fighting so many orcs. My favorite cover by Todd Lockwood is Starless Night, Drizzt is locked into an epic battle with Artemis Entreri. todd Lockwood is an exquisite artist.
