Come now, insulting an entire fan base for voting for Rand? I'm sorry you don't like Robert Jordan's writing style but that is no reason to attempt to insult everyone who does. And Rand might be almost unbeatable, but hes going up against a foe against which power itself is meaningless, a foe who's mere touch can corrupt the world, cause food to rot, stop the seasons, create never-ending cloud cover... All in all Rand has to be that strong because the big bad he is up against is even stronger.

and if you call the Wheel of Time books without substance you would be very hard pressed to find any books with substance, then.

Anyone who voted for Rand is a tool. Wheel of Time sucks, and it sucked before Jordan died.

Try not being a teenager or an early twenties douche and read something with actual substance. Reading about an invincible God is just about as boring and predictable as it can get... and is only for the immature.

"Rand channels a gateway and sends the man 10000ft in the air"

Wotfanboy, I think we should reduce this battle down to a spelling contest to see who wins. :)

Okay, this is very pro-Rand, but I really don't see the fight here. On one side you have a guy who is tall, fearless and can wield a two-handed sword in one hand. Good for him. But on the other hand you have a guy who can channel the One Power (think using magic) in such proportions as to level mountains. AND he's a bladesmaster. The disadvantages noted under Rand (one hand, two neverhealing wounds) doesn't come in to the fight unless he actually loses, seeing as you don't need hands to channel and the pain from the wounds would be dealt with by the Void.

The only way Rand could lose, as I see it, is if he somehow were unable to channel. And even then he'd have his sword to rely on. But if Rand couldn't channel, this wouldn't be a fair fight, and we might aswell say that The Mountain loses all his strength and can't wield his sword either.

As said, I have no idea if this is supposed to be a fair fight where the two "blunder" into eachother by some freak accident, or a set fight where they each get time to judge their opponent and prepare for the fight.

Hrmn, doesn't seem to have the same kind of interest and excitement as the last cage match. Any word whether or not Sanderson or Martin is going to do a write-up on this?
