The Magician King by Lev GrossmanThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Suvudu posted the First 50 Pages of The Hound by Kevin Hearne, Chris Wooding continued The Logbook of the Ketty Jay, Maggie posted the New Releases of the week, Terry Brooks posted his review of Kraken by China Mieville, and the 2011 Suvudu Cage Match is in its final match—Vin vs. Quick Ben!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com is re-reading A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin, Pyr Books posted Sometimes You Really Want To Take a Sword To Someone, and Orbit Books features Daniel Abraham and The Two Tolkiens!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Suvudu week ending 4/9/11:

  • Cover: The Magician King by Lev Grossman, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Video: 15 Minutes of Game of Thrones, posted by A Fantasy Reader
  • Review: The River of Shadows by Robert V. S. Redick, read by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Contest: Short Story Competition, posted by Fantasy Book Review
  • Review: Bloodfever by Karen Marie Moning, read by Fantasy Literature
  • Review: The Falling Machine by Andrew P. Mayer, read by Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review
  • Interview: Patrick Rothfuss, conducted by Grasping For the Wind
  • Comment: Just Not Into It, posted by Janicu’s Book Blog
  • Review: Farlander by Col Buchanan, read by The Mad Hatter’s Bookshelf
  • Interview: Steven Erikson, conducted by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Review & Giveaway: Department 19 by Will Hill, read by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Comment: Mapping GRRM’s Free Cities, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Suvudu readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
