It has been about forty years since Luke Skywalker flew his X-Wing starfighter down the trench of the first Death Star and fired the proton torpedoes that destroyed the Empire’s mighty weapon. Jedi Grand Master Luke Skywalker is now a father and has rebuilt the Jedi order. His heroics are legendary throughout the galaxy and he continues to resolve one crisis after the next. In the current series of novels from Del Rey, Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi, he faces a new threat, a tribe of Sith masters and disciples that have appeared seemingly from no where. These Sith don’t follow the all too familiar Rule of Two, one master and one apprentice, they are a whole society based on the teachings of the dark side of the Force. But where did they come from? That’s the story John Jackson Miller is telling in his eight part free ebook novella series, Star Wars: The Lost Tribe of the Sith, and it begins 5,000 years before Luke Skywalker fired that fateful shot and changed the galaxy forever.
Dark Lord of the Sith Naga Sadow has waged war against the Galactic Republic. The ship Omen, in service to Sadow during the Great Hyperspace War, was returning from a Lignan crystalmining expedition when she crashed on the remote planet Kesh. Stranded, with no communication and no way of contacting Naga Sadow and his forces, the ship of Sith warriors and mining crew are stuck on a world they do not know. The Lost Tribe of the Sith is born and John Jackson Miller’s tale begins.
In Pantheon, the world of Kesh is falling into disrepair. It’s been twelve-hundred years since Yaru Korsin crashed the Omen into the planet, and since that time, the leaders of the Tribe gather every 25 years on the anniversary of Yaru’s death to listen to a reading of their founder’s Testament. But now a new piece of Yaru’s message has come to light, and if the current Historian can’t figure out the meaning, the already fractious world of the Sith could explode into chaos…
Lost Tribe of the Sith is a perfect place for new readers to jump in. It’s also a great opportunity to read a rising new writer in John Jackson Miller. A long time comic book fan and collector, Miller has been writing about the comic book profession for nearly twenty years. His series, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, for Dark Horse just concluded this past February with issue 50. This fall, his new series, Star Wars: Knight Errant, will be published by Dark Horse comics. Del Rey will follow in 2011 with his first novel, which also takes place within the Knight Errant series.
This seventh volume, Pantheon includes an exclusive excerpt from Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi: Ascension, the new Fate of the Jedi hardcover coming in August, and continues to off a unique look into the back-story of events that have begun to unfold in the Fate of the Jedi series, as in previous Lost Tribe editions.

Thanks for sharing as always!!
Small correction to the above: It’s actually 2,000 years since the crash — we’re 3,000 BBY.
Steve, I don’t know for sure how it works but the downloads have tended to appear on the various sites at slightly different times — today was the official release date, so keep checking.
Thanks John. Will keep my eye on amazon…look forward to reading another great chapter in this story.
