Digging into our archives, we realized that we had not yet posted the short story from the March/April issue of Fantasy & Science Fiction . The story is entitled “The Paper Menagerie” by Ken Liu. Liu is a computer programmer-turned-lawyer who lives up in Boston and obviously has learned how to exercise both sides of his brain with dexterity. This is a story of misunderstandings, magic, and most of all, love.

Oh, beautiful story. Left me in tears.
The moral of the story was always cherish you’re parents because you only have them for a limited time and people are a tempory gift in our lives.
Wonderful! One of the most powerful short stories I’ve read in a very long time. Though he is relatively new on the scene, I’ll be keeping a very close watch on Ken.
I’ve read a number of Ken’s stories over the last few months and have enjoyed them all, but this one is my favorite. It broke my heart.
Brilliantly done.
