Magic happens at Comic Con.
If one knows how to make it.
This year it was fairly easy. In preparation for the convention, I contacted a number of great writers, asking if they’d be interested in going on camera and being video interviewed. Most authors jump at the chance. The point of going to Comic Con is to support their work and what better way than to be featured on Suvudu? A video interview is fun work in the middle of one of the most fun venues, and it might lead to a wealth of new fans interested as the video extends beyond San Diego and into the rest of the world via the internet(s).
I flew into Comic Con on the Wednesday before the show with a full docket of interviews to conduct. By Friday I was in full swing—and then suddenly, at the Suvudu booth, stood Jim Butcher, grinning at me like a Cheshire cat. Jim hadn’t been on the list but, having been video interviewed the previous year, sought me out anyway.
The wheels immediately began to turn in my head. I knew I’d be interviewing author Patrick Rothfuss later that weekend—who just happens to be a huge Dresden Files fan.
I thought to myself, “What magic can I work here?”
After about an hour, I successfully set up a time for Patrick and Jim to interview each other.
Why? Because it’d be fun!
