New York Times bestselling author Brent Weeks stopped by the University Bookstore in Seattle, WA on August 29, 2011 in support of his paperback release for The Black Prism.
Brent didn’t pull any punches for the event. First, he read from next year’s book, The Blinding Knife. The initial draft of the book is done and he is deep into edits but that didn’t stop him from sharing with his fans. The problem is I can’t share that video online yet. One of the two excerpts Brent read might or might not end up in the book and it’s that uncertainty that is keeping us from posting them. In time, we hope to do so.
After he finished reading the two excerpts, Brent then took question from the audience. They were all great questions with better answers. Below is the video of Brent talking about a variety of items—from his magic system in The Black Prism to worldbuilding to when we can expect The Blinding Knife.
