sanderson-infinityThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Suvudu posted the First 50 Pages from The Steel Remains by Richard K. Morgan. We also posted an exclusive excerpt for Star Wars: Riptide by Paul S. Kemp! That’s not all though. Matt Staggs featured Take Five with Peter F. Hamilton, author of The Evolutionary Void. I posted a release day interview with David Anthony Durham, author of The Sacred Band, and asked What Authors Comprise Your Dream Anthology?

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com reviewed Down These Strange Streets edited by George R. R. Martin & Gardner Dozois, Pyr Books posted a review of Fenrir by M. D. Lachlan, and Orbit Books featured the eBook only launch The Hedgewitch Queen by Lilith Saintcrow!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Suvudu week ending 10/8/11:

  • Cover: Infinity Blade: Awakening by Brandon Sanderson, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Comment: Infinity Blade: Awakening by Brandon Sanderson, posted by A Fantasy Reader
  • Review: Cold Fire by Kate Eliott, read by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Review: The Measure of the Magic by Terry Brooks, read by Fantasy Book Review
  • Review: Reamde by Neal Stephenson, read by Fantasy Literature
  • Tour Dates: The Alloy of Law by Brandon Sanderson, posted by Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review
  • Interview: R. A. Salvatore, posted by Grasping For the Wind
  • Review: One Salt Sea by Seanan McGuire, read by Janicu’s Book Blog
  • Comment: The Magicians by Lev Grossman Optioned, posted by The Mad Hatter’s Bookshelf
  • Book Trailer: The Cold Commands by Richard K. Morgan, posted by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Review: Sweet Venom by Tera Lynn Childs, read by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Comment: Four More For Thrones, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Suvudu readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…

Thanks for the links – especially the R.A.Salvatore interview. One of my favourite wrtiers, and Drizzt must be one of the most famous fantasy characters ever created.

Demons, by S.F.Spencer is out soon: http://www.facebook.com/CorilonofCorsden
