I decided to participate in Nanowrimo for the first time this year and to document my progress on my blog. It's a daunting task but I've come to realize that more than anything I want to publish a novel.

As you mentioned, Nanorimo is a great tool because it forces me to write. I'm not sitting and fretting over every single word or reworking a single passage a dozen times - I'm just writing and trying to hit a daily word count goal. If I can get the entire thing written during November then I'll make December my own personal editing month. Though I don't see myself actually hitting 50000 given my ridiculous schedule, I'm pleased that I now make time for writing every day.
