2012 is nearly upon us. It’s a new year of authors publishing books; it’s a new year of fans reading them. And of course, there are some great novels coming out in the New Year.
After highlighting the Best of 2011, we at Suvudu decided to look at what is coming in 2012—and post those titles we think will be the best bets of the year!
Today’s 2012 Best Bet is A Memory of Light by Brandon Sanderson & Robert Jordan
The Wheel of Time series has been one of the cornerstones of the fantasy genre for the last 20 years. When Eye of the World published in 1990, it immediately changed the genre, the novel being the beginning of the many-volume epic series era. Robert Jordan spent fifteen years building the Wheel of Time, the series building a massive fan base until his death in 2007.
Brandon Sanderson was then tapped to finish the concluding three volumes of Wheel of Time, resulting in The Gathering Storm, Towers of Midnight, and next year’s A Memory of Light.
As of a few days ago, Brandon completed the final scenes leading up to the 20K word conclusion written by Robert Jordan. That means A Memory of Light—and the Wheel of Time—is finished! Editing must still take place but the book will be published as planned in the second half of 2012, easily making it one of the best best for the year!
Here is video about A Memory of Light from November 2011:
A Memory of Light is a book that people have been waiting for for 20 years. It will easily be one of if not the biggest book of 2012. And with the fans agreeing that Brandon is doing a great job in completing Jordan’s opus, the ending will truly be something special.
The Wheel of Time is about to spin to its end…

I. Cannot. Wait. For.This. Book. Seriously….last half of 2012 can’t come soon enough. I may just re-read all 13 previous books in the series as a lead up.
