SF & Fantasy

Suvudu Likes: 5/5/12

brooks-wardsukThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Suvudu posted the First 50 Pages of Railsea by China Mieville. Eric Geller posted Jump Into the Expanded Universe with X-Wing: Wraith Squadron! Matt Staggs posted Ask Atticus: Haunted House Hassles. And I posted the Michael Whelan Cover for A Memory of Light!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com posted an excerpt for Existence by David Brin, Pyr Books featured The Locus Awards, and Orbit Books posted the UK cover for Wards of Faerie by Terry Brooks!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Suvudu week ending 5/5/12:

  • Cover: The Prisoner of Heaven by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Review: Songs of the Earth by Elspeth Cooper, read by A Fantasy Reader
  • Interview: Bradley P. Beaulieu & Rob Ziegler, posted by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Review: Assassin’s Quest by Robin Hobb, read by Fantasy Literature
  • Review: Shadow Ops: Control Point by Myk Cole, read by Graeme’s Fantasy Book Review
  • Review: The Last Garrison by Matthew Beard, read by Grasping For the Wind
  • UK Cover: Bitter Seeds by Ian Tregillis, posted by The Mad Hatter’s Bookshelf
  • US Cover: A Memory of Light by Jordan & Sanderson, posted by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Review: A Confusion of Princes by Garth Nix, read by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Cover: Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Suvudu readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
