I'm not 100% thrilled with ALL the changes made but that's the trade-off so I can accept that. On the other hand, characters like the re-imagining of Ygritte (with some exceptions) I LOVE, (she was never that compelling to me in the books, I secretly always wanted Jon to end up with Gilly) so i'm glad for that and other smaller changes that have made me appreciate these characters even more and in different ways than I did in the book. So to answer your question, no I do not enjoy this season more than Season 1, but for personal preference only. Most of the script and symbolism is great and enlightening. I finally understood 'Death by fire is the purest death.'...foreshadowing!!! Brilliant.
