This weekend, the Locus Awards ceremony will be held in Seattle, Washington.
I am sadly leaving for a long vacation tomorrow and will be unable to attend the ceremony. I’m not exactly happy about that but I’ll be visiting distant family and they must take precedence. Needless to say, the Locus Awards are great fun and there are always great authors to talk to. Not to mention, those who are up for awards are some of the best in the business.
The Locus Awards have been a part of the science fiction and fantasy community since 1971. In 2006, the awards moved to Seattle and the Science Fiction Museum. This year, I know they will be featuring a wonderful acknowledgement for Ray Bradbury. I’m sad I am going to miss that.
