Witch Wraith by Terry Brooks is now published and in fine bookstores!
The tour started at the University Bookstore in Seattle, WA. It was a fun night. Terry and I chose to do a mutual launch—he had Witch Wraith and I have Unfettered. It is a rare day when I can stand up in front of Terry’s fans and embarrass him with stories.
The last stop on Terry’s Witch Wraith tour was in Portland, Oregon. Last night, I also joined Terry to video tape his reading and support my anthology.
About Witch Wraith. It’s fantastic. It is the concluding volume of the Dark Legacy of Shannara trilogy but it is much more than that. I argue it is a fitting sequel to one of Terry’s early masterpieces, The Elfstones of Shannara, and it wraps up storylines begun in The Voyage of the Jerle Shannara and High Druid of Shannara.
I’m not the only one who thinks that. Aidan at the excellent fantasy blog A Dribble of Ink had a similar feeling:
“Witch Wraith feels like a culmination of everything Brooks has been writing since The Elfstones of Shannara.” — A Dribble of Ink
You can read Aidan’s full review on his website. He touches on some of the points that I love about this new series, a series I think everyone should read if they loved The Elfstones of Shannara.
The video below is from the Powell’s City of Books event. Terry talks about his work, takes questions from his fans, and reads from The High Druid’s Blade, which publishes in March 2014.
