martin-worldoficeandfireThe internet(s) gives and gives and gives.

There are some great sci-fi/fantasy bloggers out there, fans who are devoting a lot of time and energy into supporting authors and their readers. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and with the menagerie of unique and very different individuals out there contributing, it produces a whole that is better than its parts.

Last week, Suvudu featured the First 50 Pages of Oath of Fealty by Elizabeth Moon. Matt Albrecht posted the Cage Match 2014 Minecraft Replay Final Round: Leia vs Leia, while author Lev Grossman contributed a fantastic look at how the final battle would go. Matt Staggs featured Brandon Sanderson and his awesome profile on the New York Times, as well as news that Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey will be adapted by SyFy! Eric Geller featured the newest Star Wars HoloNet Digest. And I shared news that George R. R. Martin’s Dunk & Egg novellas will be compiled in a single volume and lushly illustrated, as well as posted an excerpt from the forthcoming The World of Ice & Fire!

In other areas of the professional internet(s), Tor.com announced the 2014 Hugo Award Nominess, Pyr Books turned 9 Years Old, and Orbit Books announced the SyFy television adaptation of Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey!

Here are some of the blogging highlights I found outside of Suvudu week ending 4/19/14:

  • Comment: A New Website, posted by A Dribble of Ink
  • Poll: Nostalgia in Epic Fantasy?, posted by A Fantasy Reader
  • Guest Blog: Building the Perfect Revolver, posted by Fantasy Book Critic
  • Review: The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers, read by Fantasy Literature
  • Excerpt: Thornlost by Melanie Rawn, posted by Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist
  • Final Trailer: Days of Future Past, posted by Sci-Fi Chick
  • Finalists: 2014 David Gemmell Awards, posted by SF Signal
  • Release Date: The Black Dream by Col Buchanan, posted by Wertzone

I highly recommend all Suvudu readers to visit these fine examples of sci-fi / fantasy blog work! Get involved, post your thoughts, and enjoy what else is out there!

And feel free to talk about it or anything else on our Forum here!

Till next week…
